Setting Personal Boundaries and Living from the True Authentic Self
Contacting and living from our true authentic Self is the central task of personal growth. Being real and genuine is easier said than done for it places us in a vulnerable position in relation to others and exposes us to the dreaded possibility of being criticized, rejected and hurt. In these moments, we may feel unsafe or decide not to trust or to show our authentic Self.
Rather than closing down we can choose a more hopeful path—the path of setting personal boundaries. Boundaries provide the protection we need in order to negotiate the difficult and painful experiences we experience in daily life. By protecting our genuine authentic Self, boundaries help us to feel safer. We gratify others the right to have their feelings, thoughts, needs and wants, which might be different from our own. Through healthy boundaries we ask to be treated with respect while extending respect to others.
In addition to learning how to set healthy and functional boundaries, we will learn:
- An examination of external and internal boundaries
- Childhood development, programming and core beliefs as adults
- Walls for boundaries & the differences between functional, non-existent, and damaged
- The statement for setting your physical, sexual, thinking and emotional boundaries
- Recognizing when boundaries are being violated and when you are violating others
- How to set and visualize healthy boundaries and much more

Four Day-Three Night Retreats
October 30 - November 2, 2008 (Thursday-Sunday)
March 5 - March 8, 2008 (Thursday-Sunday)
Deep in our hearts, we all yearn for inner peace and happiness. We want to be contented in our lives. The good news is that we can be. It occurs when we see into he truth of who we are. When we penetrate through the layers of our personality into the core of our being our search for happiness ends. Standing on the truth, we know profound inner peace. It is extraordinary to discover that everything we have ever wanted is already here. We are not a mistake and nothing is missing. We are complete as we are.
This meditation retreat is a rich exploration into the life of psyche and an opening to the ongoing flow of life. We will follow a balanced schedule of meditation, inner reflection, easy yoga movement and deep rest. This combination of activities gently and safely uncovers the knowledge that you are already whole. This discovery taps into the wellspring of happiness and opens the heart.
One of the great values of spiritual retreats is that it builds our capacity to be witness to our own thoughts. In doing so, the mind quiets and we enter into an extraordinary world of stillness and inner peace. Resting in this quiet is wonderful by itself. It also gives us a firm ground within to stand on. This place of groundedness is fertile soil for soulful exploration.
. Throughout the retreat we maintain silence to facilitate deep transformation.
If you have not been on a retreat and this appeals to you, please come. You need no previous retreat or meditation experience to fully participate.
meditation • gentle yoga
mindfulness practice • spiritual inquiry
We have combined the most transformative spiritual practices from our previous retreats and workshops to create a powerful spiritual and psychological container for connecting into the inner wellspring of true happiness and peace.
Join us in retreat and welcome the power of silence as we become aware of who we truly are.
The retreats are non-denominational in presentation and open to all that are interested. Our past retreats have been attended by people from many faiths i.e. Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, etc.

Teacher’s Training Friday, June 26 (open to all students)
10:30am-1:00pm and 2:00pm-4:30pm; $180
The shoulder is not only an important joint in the body, but it is also an important symbol of our strength and our ability to succeed in life. The position of our shoulders instantly telegraphs our mood to the world. Because of the importance of this area in the body, many yoga poses focus either on strengthening or on stretching the shoulders.
This workshop will begin with the basic principles of the “rotator cuff” through a presentation of the basic anatomy and kinesiology of the shoulders. After this introduction, most of our time will focus on practice about the shoulder joint with attention paid to the other parts of the body the shoulder joint with attention paid to other related body parts: spine, abdomen, head and chest. The emphasis is on learning in order to apply what we have learned immediately to our practice and teaching. For teachers and serious students.
Saturday June 27– ACTIVE Practice 10:00am-12:30pm
Morning session will address the use of the shoulder in standing, backbends and twisting asanas. $90
Saturday June 27-RESTORATIVE Practice 1:00pm –3:30pm
Afternoon session will introduce Relax and Renew Restorative to heal the upper back and shoulders. $90
Relax & Renew Principle: We work very hard in our lives and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest deeply. Restorative yoga poses are special poses which use blankets and bolsters to help us relax and rest deeply and completely. During deep relaxation all the organ systems of the body are allowed to rest. Measurable results of relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure and the improvement of immune function as well as in digestion, elimination and the reduction of muscle tension and generalized fatigue.
Restorative poses are simple, satisfying and pleasant to practice. The benefits are profound whether we are stressed out or ill. Leaning to give ourselves the gift of 20 minutes of quiet relaxation and reflection each day is one of the most powerful things we can do to improve health and change the world.
