The focus of the Traditional Tai-Chi and Healing Arts Class is to teach a broad array of Chinese health practices beneficial to all.  Movements taught, adapted to every individual- young, senior, athletic, in a wheelchair, healthy, or ill, are highly beneficial to one's body, mind, and spirit.  Students will study breathing secrets, the 10 most important acupressure points, important
chinese herbs for health, ancient meditation methods, Qi-Gong (Life Force Energy Development), a traditional short Tai-Chi form, and specialized methods for health enhancement.  Although all Tai-Chi Movements can be used for self-defence it is the pursuit of health and spiritual advancement that is foremost in our studies.  In China, there are six major schools of Tai-Chi:  Chen style from Chenjiago (Chen family village) which is the oldest recorded Tai-Chi known, Yang style (most popular in the world today) from Yang Lu-chan lineage, Sun style that blended the martial arts of Baguazhang (Eight Trigram Palm) and Zingyiquan (Shape-Will Boxing) with Tai-Chi under the Sun Lu-Tang lineage, Wu Style from the Wu Chien-Chuan Lineage, a lesser known lineage from another Wu family, and Hau style from Hau Wei-Zhen lineage.

In class you will study the foundation of these traditional old styles, the most important movements for health and spirit, and Chinese medical/Energy practices.  You will be taught traditional chinese health self-diagnosis and treatment methods, Chinese foods that help alleviate specific illnesses, and watch videos from China and will introduce you to ancient health arts and the Chinese Culture.

Come watch a class or participate in a class  Thursday nights at 7:15pm. Hope to see you then!
